The showbiz couple purchased a £1.3million farmhouse in Mark’s native Essex back in 2019 and have knocked it down to begin building their dream home.
Now The Sun has reported that the pair have applied to Epping Forest District Council in the hope of building a “one-bedroom annexe” on the property.
It is also reported that the couple wish to knock down an existing stable building that already stands on the property.
The paper also notes that the couple withdrew plans last May to build an apartment for Mark’s parents Mark Snr and Carol Wright to be cared for in.
This move is described as having followed the local parish council approving the plans.
A letter is quoted by the paper from MP Architects LLP that states the property would be for Mark’s parents.
The plan reads: “The annex provides one bedroom, bathroom, a TV room and an open plan kitchen, living and dining area with a feature window & doors to provide good views over the countryside.”
The reported plans for the new annex come as Mark and Michelle have documented the progress of work on their dream home on a specially dedicated Instagram page found @wrightyhome.
Taking to his Instagram Stories last week, Mark could be seen ascending the staircase of the constructed house.
Mark revealed as he entered the upper floor: “So the roof rooms are now being shaped and laid out.
“This is the hallway when you get up to the roof. One bedroom over here and one over here, you walk into this bedroom as so…”
He added: “At this stage we’re working out where the beds are gonna go, ’cause you want to put in the electricity for the TV and stuff.”
Mark then proceeded to show off the spaces and details of the bedrooms, which will have their own en-suite bathrooms and also views from across the land they own.
The couple really seem set to make their dreams a reality.
